International hospitality management company, PREM Group have completed the first stage of its renovation programme at Tulfarris Hotel and Golf Resort, Blessington, Co. Wicklow. The group purchased the 90-bedroom hotel in 2016 and since then have already spent over €6 million on the property to return the luxury 18th century Manor House and its surrounding grounds to their former glory. 

The initial renovation programme saw 16 new bedrooms being added to the Wicklow property while the bridal suite, foyer, drawing and library rooms of the Manor House have been tastefully transformed. Interior designer, Julie Goggin oversaw the design of the property to include a revamp of the hotel lobby and Elk Bar.

Further to this Architects Moloney O ‘Beirne was commissioned to design a stunning state of the art clubhouse for the property offering golfers a modern and bright facility to gear up in before playing the championship course. A major part of the investment has focused on the main entrance, grounds and golf course making it one of the best parkland golf courses in the country. Men’s developmental professional golf tour, the PGA EuroPro Tour, has also selected Tulfarris Hotel as their host venue for three consecutive years since the vast course improvements.

Tulfarris Hotel and Golf Resort is located just 40 minutes from Dublin and has exquisite surroundings against the spectacular backdrop of the Blessington Lakes and the Wicklow Mountains. The resort comprises of a luxury 4-star hotel, 18-hole championship golf course, clubhouse, conference centre, banqueting suites, a restaurant and bar. The 18thcentury Manor House sits at the heart of the resort and its classic design and elegant proportions are typical of the 18thcentury architecture of the time.

It is impossible not to be captivated by the natural beauty of the resort with its mature woodlands and huge expanses of water. The Blessington lakes that surround the property not only offer stunning vistas but also challenging play for golfers. The Elk Bar is a picture-perfect place to meet with friends and soak up the relaxed atmosphere of the surrounding scenery all year round. When weather permits, the resort features a beautiful terrace overlooking the 18th green and fairway where barbecues can be held to cater for up to 150 people, perfect for post-wedding celebrations.

The redevelopment of the property is aimed at attracting clientele from the wedding and special occasion markets, while the presence of the one AA Rosette award-winning Lime Tree restaurant ensures that visitors to the hotel enjoy the finest cuisine served up by Executive Head Chef, Eddie McDermott. The Lime Tree Restaurant is a sumptuous blend of tastes and flavours where world cuisine meets the best of Irish. All ingredients are sourced locally from Irish farmers and suppliers when possible with wines selected from large and small vineyards around the world.

Couples with larger wedding numbers can have their reception in the two main banqueting suites adjoining the Manor House; The Russborough and The Poulaphouca. Couples looking for a more intimate or relaxed reception can opt for The Lime Tree Restaurant, located in the main hotel, which boasts spectacular views over the golf course and Wicklow mountains. Further to this, the Manor House Bar offers a light and spacious space for wedding parties up to 80 people.
