Powerscourt Golf Club - East 2021

Powerscourt Golf Club is another sell-out venue on the Golf Digest tour schedule, set in the breath-taking surroundings of one of the finest estates in the world.

Venue: Powerscourt Golf Club - East

Date: Monday 28th June 2021

Entry: €60 Visitors, Knightsbrook Members €40.00

The categories include handicap 0-12, 13-24 and ladies 0-36. There are THREE prizes in each category and if you win, it's YOUR CHOICE: 1st (Bushnell V5 Laser or TaylorMade SIM2 Driver), 2nd (Bushnell GPS Wingman or TaylorMade Spider X Putter) and 3rd (Bushnell GPS Watch or TaylorMade Stand Bag).

All golfers, including those without an official handicap, can win prizes on all FOUR Par 3 Nearest the Pin competitions and on the TWO Longest Drives competitions.

All Category winners on the day go through to the Golf Digest Open Grand Final at the Heritage Golf Resort and the winner will be crowned the Golf Digest Open Champion Golfer 2020.

Due to COVID-19 there will be no goodie bags or prize giving. However, there will still be FREE drinks at the reception, the 9th Hole and one the first tee. Unfortunately, there will be no burgers available on the day.

The East Course at Powerscourt offers something for everyone, with the traditional mix of four Par 3’s & Par 5’s, and 10 Par 4’s. It is an incredibly enjoyable round of golf, with 3 of the par 3’s playing downhill, and the fourth and signature Par 3, the 16th hole, playing over water.

It is a strong but fair test, with two tier greens on many holes, but the option to ‘miss’ on one side almost always available. As good as the opening 3 holes are, the course peaks brilliantly for the closing stretch.

The aforementioned Par 3 16th offers equal chance to make birdie or bogey, while the 17th is a true Par 5, with not even the biggest of hitters likely to take on a carry over water to a shallow green with bunkers at the back.

The 18th hole gives golfers one last breath-taking view of the Estate and its stunning surrounds from the tee box, before one of the most challenging tee shots of the day. If you have taken your opportunities to score well earlier in the round, you’ll happily take a par here.

Book early and look forward to a great day out on one of Ireland best parkland golf courses.
