Rocket Mortgage Classic 2020 odds: Bryson DeChambeau is an extremely heavy favourite ala Rory McIlroy or Tiger Woods

For a fourth week in a row, the PGA Tour will continue to capture the interest of the casual sports fan as it turns to Detroit Golf Club for this week’s Rocket Mortgage Classic. Last week’s fireworks came mostly thanks to Dustin Johnson’s eventful final round, but it gave us three consecutive events of drama down the stretch.

This week’s Rocket Mortgage Classic marks the fourth event on the PGA Tour’s return, and if Detroit Golf Club can produce anything similar to the fireworks we’ve experienced in the last three weeks, golf fans are in for a show.
With very little historical data (this is just the second year of the Rocket Mortgage Classic), and a course that includes three reachable par 5s (four for Bryson), it should be no surprise that DeChambeau, who has finished T-3, T-8 and T-6 in the first three events back, is the overwhelming favorite. After a slew of close calls, will this be the week he finally reaches the winner’s circle?
Three of the world’s top-10 players—Webb Simpson (11-1), Patrick Reed (14-1) and DeChambeau (13-2) will all be teeing it up. That’s a big number for Bryson, similar odds to what Rory McIlroy has been eliciting for most of 2020. Rory and a bunch of the world’s biggest names are taking the week off, resting up for two straight weeks at Muirfield Village after this one.
Those big favorites are joined by last year’s winner Nate Lashley (125-1), as well as other big names such Rickie Fowler (40-1) and Jason Day (50-1), who are looking to get back on track. Lashley was an extreme longshot here last year after Monday qualifying, with Doc Redman, Rory Sabbatini and Wes Roach all finishing T-3 or better. So perhaps this is another week to look down the odds board.
