Cormac Shavin carded a level par 71, leaving him on two over par for the tournament and tied for 15th place at the Challenge Tour Grand Final in Club de Golf Alcanada, Port d'Alcúdia, Mallorca, Spain.
It was an ideal start for the Ardglass professional, as he eagled the first but he could only add one more birdie to the round before three bogeys undid all the good work.
Francesco Laporta still has the lead after another solid round - this time two under par - leaves him on five under par at the halfway stage, one shot clear of Sebastian Garcia Rodriguez.
